Hi all! It's been a pretty eventful week, so I have plenty of things to talk about!
Firstly, some bad news. My laptop, with which I have been completing work towards my A-Levels, has completely died. For some reason, it has decided that it wants to live the rest of its days as a paperweight. For a replacement, I have purchased a Thinkpad T480, which has so far proved to be an incredible system. You can expect a nerdpost soon talking about it a bit more.
Double Date
On Wednesday, Ace and I met up with some friends to watch Wild Robot in cinema. While the film was great, I also enjoyed spending time in public with friends - something I don't do very often. It was refreshing to hang out with new people, instead of my usual half-term routine of hiding in my room all week. I look forward to doing things like this more often, and hopefully I can continue to hang out with my friends during the other breaks from college in the leadup to my exams.Ringing Ears
If you read my last post, you'd know that I went to a concert on Halloween. It was my first concert, so I was very nervous and not sure what to expect. However, when the music started, my anxiety quickly disappeared. The warmup bands (Redhook, Dream State, and As December Falls) were all incredible, getting the crowd moving ahead of the main event - Skindred.Skindred's performance was even better than I had imagined - the music had me moving and singing in a way I have never done before, especially not in public. The perfomance felt surreal to me, as I had never felt bass vibrating my entire body before. Unsurprisingly, after the performance, my ears were numb and ringing, so I will bring earbuds to the next concert I go to.
Overall, the concert was incredible, and I look forward to attending many, many more! I have put some videos of the concert below, but be aware that they contain flashing imagery.
